We have been told over and over again that we should know our “numbers”. That usually translates into knowing your:
Today, I’m going to propose that you add one more number to your list. That number is your Omega 3 level.
I was approached by Coromega, the makers of a squeezable fish oil supplement dubbed “the first delicious Omega 3”, to take their 90-day challenge. This challenge involves taking their Omega3+D supplement for 90 days, starting and ending with a blood test of my Omega 3 levels. This supplement provides 350mg of EPA, 230mg of DHA, and 1000IU of Vitamin D3. (Note the recommended daily intake of EPA/DHA is around 1 gram or 1000mg.)
This isn’t your normal fish oil. This is a fruity concoction (their words, not mine) that is portable, doesn’t require refrigeration, is fish-burp-free, and…has 300% better absorption compared to softgel capsules (per this Bioavailability Study).
Coromega uses purified oil from wild, Norwegian anchovies and sardines that is sent directly from Norway to California where the oil goes through their patented emulsion process and packaged in their squeeze packets. You can squeeze the oil directly into your mouth or add it to a smoothie, yogurt, fruit—be creative!
For those of you concerned about the safety, “truth in labeling”, and accountability of supplements, know that this oil is purified through a process called molecular distillation which removes all heavy metals and other contaminants; third-party tested to ensure its purity; and is both NSF certified and ConsumerLab approved.

Curious about my numbers? Here I am at Day One before taking even one squeeze of my Coromega:
Not bad, huh? I am very excited to see how my numbers will improve at the end of the 90 days. I take my Coromega with breakfast, squeezing it straight into my mouth. It really is amazing that I can take fish oil this way—seriously nothing nasty or fishy about it. At first, I had to leave the bright orange packets out on the counter so that I would remember to take them and start a new healthy habit. Now, it’s become a natural part of my day, and I’m so glad that Vitamin D is included in my daily squeeze.
I’ll keep you posted of my new and improved numbers!
