My Top 10 Picks from Expo West 2014
This year’s Expo West was exhilarating! I tried hundreds of new products–food, supplements, skin care, you name it.
Here are my Top 10 picks in no particular order from what I sampled and learned about this year (there were at least a hundred booths I didn’t get to, so tell me if I missed something awesome!):
Carrington Farms Coconut Cooking Oil
This non-GMO coconut oil is always liquid, making it super easy to cook with. It has 5 times more MCTs than regular coconut oil and can be used in both baking and sautéing up to 350°F.
Nooodle Tomato Infused Angel Hair Nooodle
Looking for a healthy pasta option? Here it is! This NO-Calorie noodle (yes, you heard that right!) has been reformulated to get rid of that “fishy” taste and is now available in meal starters and soups in addition to the original NoOodle.
neat Mexican Mix
This soy-free, fiber- and protein-rich meat substitute is shelf stable, super easy to make, and tastes delicious.
Essential Formulas Chia Omega Supplements
Pass on the fish oil! This Chia Seed Oil is combined with CoQ10, Vitamin D3, Lipase, or DHA/EPA Algal Oil to make an excellent vegan Omega 3 supplement that provides more than 1000mg of Omega 3’s per serving of 2 soft gels.
Rawjuvenate Organic Vegan Protein
Available in both vanilla (which I tried) and chocolate, this vegan protein powder has 21 grams of protein per 2 Tablespoons and is an impressive combination of Organic Pea, Sacha Inchi, and Hemp Seed proteins with 544mg of Omega 3s from both hemp and flax seed.
FlapJacked Protein Pancake Mix
High-fiber, low-fat pancakes…with protein? Yes please! When I heard about this company I put little stars by their name on my exhibitor list and they did not disappoint!
I have wanted to make my own tempeh for years and the YouTube videos just don’t cut it. I need this! It can be used not only with the typical soybean, but with any legume. Take your pick!
Made from Redmond clay, Xylitol, essential oils, and Real Salt, this toothpaste is free from fluoride, glycerin, and foaming agents such as SLS (sodium laurel sulfate). Great for people with chemical sensitivities. Great for everyone, really.
Brush with Bamboo
Besides the fact that I love bamboo and have a kitchen and bathroom full of the beautiful plant, this brush has a biodegradable handle, BPA-free bristles, and compostable packaging. It’s also a really good toothbrush.
Dagoba Organic Lavender Blueberry Dark Chocolate
With 45 Calories per square and a super satisfying flavor, this is a great way to end your meal. Call it your daily dose of lavender (paired with wild blueberries and robed in chocolate).
…and the Alkaway Ultrastream!
I am so giddy that I won this! I will have to tell you more about it after I get to try it out. For now, know that this incredible system is a water filter, antioxidant producer, alkalizer, and Hydrogen infusing system. That’s a wow!
Congrats to my personal faves! I hope you all get a chance to try and enjoy these incredible products. Let me know if you do :)
